Ersel Hickey (born Ersel O'Hickey, June 27, 1934 – July 12, 2004) was an American rockabilly singer best known for his hit song "Bluebirds over the Mountain". Hickey was born in Brighton, New York, and was named after the family doctor, Dr. Ersel. His mother was from Kingston, Ontario; his father, who was Irish, died when Hickey was four.
